Scream

Barb My favorite horror movie by far, second only to Halloween (as it too is a classic in my eyes). While I'm not a huge Neve Campbell fan, I thought the flick was a few genre's rolled into one: Comedy & Horror, giving more BANG for your BUCK. Having seen it at least a dozen times or more since it's release more than 10 years ago, I would definitely recommend this to someone looking for a good Friday night movie to watch with their significant other. Note: Not for the kiddos tho - the whole "mask" thing may cause nightmares. ;)

28 Weeks Later

Barb Anyone who has seen the prequel to this movie will agree - the "infected" run HELLA fast, unlike your typical 'zombie' movies where they WALK towards their victims, slow & sluggish-like. 28 weeks later gets your adrenaline going within the first FIVE minutes! I didn't expect it so quick and found it to be a bonus! The storyline for this one was creative, in the means that it didn't do a senseless sequel that merely copies the 1st one. I hope I'm not presumptuous in saying there will be another one... possibly a 28 MONTHS later? I'll be ready. ;)

Knocked Up

5 out of 5

by Barb

Barb I've read a few reviews from other members and I about laughed out loud. You say the humor is lewd and tasteless... did ya NOT notice the title of the movie?? Not "Carrying Child"... no... it's "Knocked up". That in itself should lend some suspicion that the flick will be American Pie-ish and not to be watched with the kiddos. I rarely give movies 5 stars but I did for this one because it felt real to me, the characters were funny and I sympathized with the serious areas. Definitely, I'd watch it again sometime and hey - that's just me. But yes, there's cussing, yes there's lewd behavior - it's a comedy. I've seen kevin Smith movies with more bite than this. So if you want something that's funny and cute to watch with the family with no bad language - rent spy kids.

Disturbia

Barb Happy to say I would definitely watch this one AGAIN. It did a good job of outlining the characters, one by one. Shia Lebouf did an awesome job in this role as the new version of James Stewart from "Rear Window" of 1946. They've changed up the storyline a bit but the same general idea. Without giving too much away, the latter part of the flick (while predictable) will have you at the edge of your seat, toes curled in anticipation!
